Let’s be honest – learning a language can be boring! Textbooks … grammar exercises … memorising phrasal verbs …
Is there a fun way to improve your English and make fast progress?
Yes! Learn English through stories.
But that’s too difficult!
No, it isn’t. My stories are adapted for learners of English. The English is simpler and easier to understand.
This is a special type of book called a GRADED READER.
How can you learn English through stories?
Reading improves your English in many different ways.
- Comprehension – improve your comprehension skills, including understanding main ideas, identifying details and making inferences.
- Vocabulary – learn a wide range of vocabulary in context.
- Grammar – absorb the correct grammatical structures and sentence patterns.
- Writing – learn to communicate more clearly by learning new ways to express things.
Reading can help you in other ways too. It will increase your fluency. How? Because you will learn lots of new words and phrases, and you will be able to speak more naturally and with more confidence.
It will also increase your motivation. Reading stories is fun so you won’t give up. As a result, you will learn more over time.
Improve all aspects of your English ... FAST!
Studies show that students who read in English improve much more quickly.
Of course, every teacher already knows that!
And reading can help your other skills too. For example, one study found that, if you improve your reading, your writing and speaking also get better!
Why are graded readers better than normal books?
- The level of language is very strictly controlled so the stories won’t be too difficult for you.
- They have vocabulary and grammar at your level so you won’t get frustrated.
- There are definitions of difficult words at the back so you won’t need a dictionary.
- They are shorter than normal books.
Most importantly, the books are written by a language expert (me!). I’m a qualified, experienced teacher of English and I speak many languages. So I know exactly what students can understand at different levels. I make the books not too difficult and not too easy. You will learn without becoming demotivated.

Which level should I choose?
It’s important to read a graded reader at your level. The vocabulary and grammar shouldn’t be too easy nor too difficult. There are four levels:
A1+ Elementary
A2 Pre-intermediate
B1 Intermediate
B2 Upper intermediate

This looks good. I never thought of learning English with stories but good idea. A way to keep students engaged with longer texts.
Yes, exactly. Students usually don’t like reading long texts although it improves their English. With stories, they don’t get bored!
